Brian Zelis Joins Fermata Energy

Driving the Future Toward Vehicle-to-X (V2X), Fermata Energy Expands its Team

Dallas, Texas, October 8, 2020 -- Fermata Energy, the nation’s leader in proven vehicle-to-everything (V2X) systems, recently named Brian Zelis as National Sales Director. Zelis will lead Fermata Energy’s efforts to bring V2X technology and software to utilities, universities, municipalities, and fleet owners across North America.

Zelis has 25 years of sales management experience working in the automotive and real estate development industry, and is a subject matter expert in green building and electric vehicle (EV) adoption. Zelis was most recently the Electric Vehicle Business Development Manager for Nissan North America, where he maintained commercial relationships and communications among Nissan dealers in key Western and Pacific states. At Nissan, Zelis was an advocate for EV adoption.

“I am excited for the opportunity to bring Fermata’s V2X software and technology directly to the power industry for immediate deployment with proven results,” Zelis said. “David Slutzky and John Wheeler are pioneers in the industry who are leading the change in new clean-climate technologies to bring resiliency to the grid. They have found a way for EV owners to generate revenue through Fermata Energy’s technology,” Zelis said. “I am thrilled to join Fermata and their ground-breaking team.”

“Brian brings a depth of experience in EV adoption to help Fermata Energy expand its system and help combat climate change, increase energy resilience and reduce energy costs,” said Slutzky, president and CEO of Fermata Energy. Fermata Energy has worked closely with Nissan North America as the Nissan LEAF remains the only bidirectional electric vehicle currently on the market. “We had an opportunity to work with Brian while he was with Nissan NA, and we are thrilled he will be leading our effort to expand our V2X technology.”

Earlier this year, Fermata Energy’s bidirectional EV charging system was the first in the world to be certified to a new North American safety Standard, UL 9741, the Standard for Bidirectional Electric Vehicle Charging System Equipment.
