Fermata Energy: Google Climate Change Program

Electric vehicles have the power to accelerate the transition to renewable energy

Fermata Energy Selected for Google’s Startups Accelerator for Climate Change

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. — April 27, 2021 — Fermata Energy has been chosen as one of 11 companies in North America to participate in the inaugural Google for Startups Accelerator: Climate Change. Fermata Energy is a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology company that designs, supplies, and operates V2X technology. It turns electric vehicles (EV) into energy storage assets that combat climate change, increase resilience, and dramatically lower EV ownership cost.

The Google for Startups Accelerator program builds on last year's Google for Startups Accelerator: Sustainable Development Goals, which supports startups from across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It is a 10-week program that helps bring the best of Google to startups to combat climate change. In addition to mentorship and technical project support, the accelerator focuses on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development for founders.

"The Google for Startups Accelerator program is an important program for Fermata Energy," said David Slutzky, CEO and Founder of Fermata Energy. "We look forward to their mentorship and expertise to help us advance and scale our technology to combat climate change through collaboration."

The transition to renewable energy like wind and solar requires massive investment in energy storage. With just a few models available today, the energy capacity in EVs on the road today already dwarfs the stationery industry by several orders of magnitude. Parked electric vehicles can provide the energy storage the grid requires, accelerating the transition to renewable energy and reducing the cost of EV ownership.
